Retired teachers study economy

The Indiana Retired Teachers Association (IRTA) Fall Leadership Workshop for Area 4 was held at Rockville on September 16, 2004. Participants from CCRTA were Jerry Morgan, President; Mary Ann Froderman, Vice-president; Carolyn Tausig, Community Service, and Denzil Adams, Membership.

Among the speakers were IRTA State President, Jerry Sparks; Pat Burden, President-elect; and Stephen C. Moberly, Executive Director.

Edward Jones investment representative, Monti Jones talked about investing and the economic outlook for the next year.

Retired teachers, including state committee members, local chapter officers and committee chairs, discussed legislation, community service, membership, public relations, retirement planning, member services and member concerns.

The Indiana Retired Teachers Association has 23,000 members in 84 local chapters. Its mission is to promote the welfare of retired educators, encourage education, and to provide community service and leadership.
