Laue named to hospital post

Thursday, September 23, 2004

St.Vincent Clay Hospital has announced that Jerry Laue, has been named administrator at St.Vincent Clay Hospital effective immediately.

Laue has served as interim administrator of the hospital since February. A member of the Brazil community for 17 years, Laue has worked at St.Vincent Clay for six years as director of operations and director of development, respectively.

As administrator, Laue will manage the hospital's day-to-day affairs. It's a role that Loraine Brown, St.Vincent Clay Hospital Board chair, believes Laue is well suited.

"Jerry has done an excellent job in the interim and I know he is motivated to exceed our expectations in his permanent position," Brown said.

Laue said he is excited about the continued opportunity at St.Vincent Clay and is looking forward to working with the great associates and physicians to advance the level of healthcare in the community.

St.Vincent Clay Hospital has served Clay County residents since 1928. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and was designated as a Critical Access Hospital in 2001. This federal designation provides hospitals with special cost-based reimbursement, helping ensure that residents in smaller rural communities have access to high-quality physician and hospital services 24 hours a day.

The hospital supports the medical needs of the community with a 24-hour physician staffed emergency department. Inpatient and ambulatory services include: surgery, radiology, cardiology, pulmonology, laboratory, speech, physical and occupational therapy. Medical specialties available at the facility include: general surgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, oncology, pulmonology, ophthalmology and gastroenterology.

St.Vincent Clay is a member of St.Vincent Health, a nonprofit, spiritually centered healthcare system sponsored by Ascension Health. St.Vincent Health is dedicated to the mission of improving the lives and health status of residents of Indiana through the provision of a continuum of holistic and high-quality healthcare services. St.Vincent Health is comprised of 16 ministries throughout central Indiana.
