Group planning '4community'

Thursday, October 28, 2004

The Clay County 4community lead by the United Way in association with the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Foundation, Delta Theta Tau, Brazil Rotary Club, and the Clay County Redevelopment Commission are planning for Clay County's future.

There will be a meeting Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. in the YMCA to hear public input to help determine how a potential grant should be instituted to improve the community.

The group has obtained a planning grant through the support of the groups mentioned above. They are hoping to bring more support and hoping that younger persons will become involved. The process involves everyone in the county, not just people from the Brazil area.

The group is gathering information from many county residents.

The first of three questions being asked is, "From your point of view, what are the assets of the Clay County community?"

The second is, "From your point of view, what are the challenges of the Clay County community?"

The third is, "From your point of view, what are the opportunities of the Clay County community?"

These are very important questions that will determine how the grant is used.

Individuals are urged to answer these questions in writing. Please send answers to: The United Way of Clay County 523 E. National Ave., Brazil, IN 47834 or to Jim Dittoe, Winning Communities 12708 Stanwich Place, Carmel, IN 46033.
