Teachers fight scary disease

Monday, November 1, 2004

Teachers get in the spirit of Halloween for a good cause at North Clay Middle School during a fund raising event Friday for the Montgomery Family Muscular Dystrophy Fund.

North Clay Middle School was filled with spooky and odd characters Friday as the students and faculty got into the Halloween spirit by donating a $1 to help the Montgomery Family Muscular Dystrophy Fund. The event, sponsored by student council, allowed anyone who donated to come to school in costume.

Teaching staff that joined the students in the fun were: Steve Pfrank (colonial schoolmaster), Mary Jo Benson (bag lady), Lisa Coughanowr (Hawiian tourist), Jennie Menser (Colts football player), Glen Gill (pirate), Carol McClain (outdoorsman), Rochelle Reberger (giesha), and Angie Clingerman (80's flashback girl).

The school raised over $300 for the Montgomery family. Denise and her daughters, Alexis, 12, and Josey, 9, all suffer from Muscular Dystrophy.
