The partially clothed body of an unidentified female was found in a private pond Tuesday.
At 5:30 p.m., Indiana State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called to northwestern Clay County to assist the Clay County Sheriff's Department with a death investigation.
The female, believed to be in her late teens to early 20s, was slender with light brown hair. The body was found floating in a pond by the property owner on CR 600N, approximately 0.3 mile west of SR 59.
The body was recovered and transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for an autopsy scheduled this morning.
