Police are continuing to search for suspects and a motive in the Tanette "Toni" Dickison homicide investigation, but are coming up empty-handed.
The body of Dickison, 18, of Terre Haute, was found floating in a private pond at 1287 CR 600N at approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday. Family members identified the teenager from photos, and law enforcement officials from the Indiana State Police, Clay County Sheriff's Dept., Clay County Coroner's Office and Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources began investigating Dickison's death as a homicide after an autopsy Wednesday morning. Authorities have not revealed the cause of death in order to preserve the investigative integrity of the case.
"The only thing we've done is question one person after another today," ISP Sgt. Joe Watts said. "We don't have much to go on in this case."
Investigators have literally been working around the clock conducting interviews with persons in the Terre Haute and Brazil areas who may have information regarding Dickison's death, he said. Due to increased media attention, law enforcement officials are fielding more calls connected to possible leads.
"They're small pieces of the puzzle," Watts said. "All those pieces have not given us a definitive suspect."
