Grant should pay for sewer improvements

Wednesday, April 27, 2005

More Clay City residents should be able to connect to the town's sewer system in the near future.

The present ban on new connections will be lifted when the system is improved, Clay City Town Board President Roy Chenoweth said this morning.

The town has been waiting on money to make the necessary improvements.

The wait is over. At 10 a.m. today, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Indiana State Director Robert White was scheduled to present a check for $3,467,000 to Chenoweth.

The presentation is being made to celebrate Earth Day 2005, according to a USDA press release.
