Police still looking for suspect in Dickison murder case

Tuesday, December 14, 2004

Two weeks after the body of murder victim Toni Dickison was found in a private pond, investigators from the Indiana State Police and Clay County Sheriff's Dept. are revisiting their notes and conducting interviews in an effort to pinpoint a suspect and motive.

"The tips are coming in a little slower now," ISP Sgt. Joe Watts said. "But that's to be expected."

In an investigation like that of the murder of the 18-year-old Terre Haute woman, persons with information usually contact the authorities within the first day or two, he explained.

"We've had no break in the case, and that's what we're looking for. We don't have a clear-cut suspect," he said. "We're still out there searching and investigating. And we're hoping that's going to pay off."

Anyone with information pertaining to the murder of Toni Dickison or suspicious activity near the pond on the south side of CR 600N, approximately three-tenths of a mile west of S.R. 59, prior to her death, should call the Indiana State Police at 812-299-1152 or the Clay County Sheriff's Dept. at 446-2535.
