The National Weather Service this morning was forecasting as much as 4-7 inches of snow for our area.
The winter storm watch affects many counties in central Indiana. Unlike a storm that came through the state earlier this week, this storm is expected to bring more snow and ice to southern portions of the area and less to the northern areas of central Indiana.
On Tuesday morning, weather forecasters were predicting the snow would begin in the Brazil area shortly after midnight tonight and continue through about noon Wednesday. During that time, 2-7 inches of snow could fall here, depending on the track the storm takes.
However, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch from late tonight through early Thursday morning. A winter storm watch is issued when severe weather is possible, but not imminent. There is a potential for significant snow or ice accumulations affecting driving and walking conditions may become hazardous, so the National Weather Service urges residents and travelers to monitor the latest forecasts.
