After pilferring two red-colored rope lights from the outside flower boxes in front of the First Financial Branch Bank on Friday Nov. 26, the "Scrooge" of Poland had a change of heart.
The Pioneer Homemakers Club, which has decorated the Poland bank for the past 16 years without incident, tried to reach out to the culprit through the media.
After writing a letter requesting the return of the lights for The Brazil Times Opinion Page on Monday, Club President Lucy Strauch didn't expect what happened next.
Rolled up with a note attached, the lights were found outside the bank next to the flower boxes Tuesday morning.
"It takes a big person to right a wrong," Strauch said about the return of the lights. "It made the town's Christmas to have them returned."
