Annunciation joins celebration of Catholic Schools Week

The Annunciation School and other Catholic schools nearby are celebrating Catholic Schools Week through Friday, said Barbara Black, Annuciation School principal.

National Catholic Schools Appreciation Day is the next day to be celebrated throughout the week-long event.

Today students will dress up and attend mass at 9 a.m. with other Catholic school students at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Terre Haute, Black said.

Following mass, the students will have lunch at McDonalds at noon and then visit retired sisters at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College at 1 p.m.

Thursday is Volunteers Day. Students are encouraged to dress mismatched. At 11:30 a.m. the students will serve lunch to Catholic school volunteers.

Closing the week out is the celebration of Teacher's Day Friday. Students are encouraged to dress in school colors and will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
