New judge pro tem on bench

Tuesday, February 8, 2005

The office of Clay County Circuit Court Judge has once again changed hands as Judge Pro Tempore Dexter Bolin Jr. vacated the position on Friday, Jan. 28 as previously scheduled.

Judge Charles McCrory of Vigo County assumed the duties on Jan. 29 and will fill the position until a replacement judge is chosen for the county.

Filling the vacancy has been an issue since Judge Ernie Yelton resigned the position to become the head of the Indiana Gaming Commission by Governor Mitch Daniels earlier this month.

General Counsel to the Governor Steve Schultz has generated a list of qualified potential candidates from nominations and applications for consideration.

Robert A. Pell and Eric L. Wyndham of Clay County have announced their interest in the position.

After interviews with the candidates, a selection will be made by Gov. Mitch Daniels.
