Woman taken to hospital after crash

A two-car collision Tuesday afternoon resulted in no injuries, but managed to slow down traffic on U.S. 40 for nearl a half an hour.

At 12:10 p.m. yesterday Mary L. Cox "attempted to pull across the traffic lanes from entry lane to the St. Vincent/Clay Hospital to turn eastbound," according to the accident report. Cox didn't see any traffic and pulled out where she was struck in the front side of her vehicle, the report said.

The second driver, Jason L. Kraft "was traveling westbound in the passing lane when vehicle 1 pulled across the lanes into his path," acccording to the report.

Kraft tried to avoid the accident, but still slid into the side of the other vehicle, the report said. Kraft's passenger, Peggy S. Kraft, complained of chest and abdominal pains.

The total damage estimate for the accident between the 1989 Ford Taurus and the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am is between $2,502-$5,000.
