A late February snow resulted in several fenderbenders and a six-vehicle crash that injured eight people Monday.

The Indiana State Police investigated a six-vehicle crash on U.S. 40 in Vigo County.

Herschel Davis, 29, Shilo Tanner, 20, and Alicia Tanner, 26, George Gardner, 62, all of Terre Haute, Douglas Christian, 42, Samuel Christian, 21, Michael Beasley, 40 and Ersel Bergess, 67, all of Brazil complained of injuries following the crash reported at 6:43 p.m. Monday. All with the possible exception of Beasley were transported to Terre Haute hospitals. The extent of Beasley's injuries were not known at press time.

State Police reported the vehicles driven by Davis, Douglas Christian, Gardner, Bergess, and Alicia Tanner were destroyed in the crash. Beasley's vehicle received an estimated $4,500 damage.

According to the police report, the Davis vehicle was eastbound on U.S. 40 when Davis lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line, striking the Christian and Gardner vehicles. The Burgess and Tanner vehicles then collided while trying to avoid the crash. The Davis vehicle then struck the Beasley vehicle before coming to a stop.

State Police Trooper Jason Fischer said the roadway was slick due to ice at the time of the accident.

No charges were filed, though pending, according to the press release.
