Group seeking community members interested in Board of Directors positions
Members of Main Street Brazil met Thursday to share more ideas on the improvement of downtown and discuss their upcoming officer elections in April.
Mayor Tom Arthur reported the organization is seeking non-for-profit status.
The group also shared possible ways to set up membership fees. "We want to offer different levels of membership," such as gold, silver and bronze at different price ranges, he said. Exactly how membership fees will be set up will be decided after officers are elected.
In the past few weeks, flyers have been distributed with information about the organization and the upcoming election. The election will be held at the biweekly meeting April 14 in the basement of Riddell bank. Detailed descriptions of officer positions will run in The Brazil Times weeks prior to the election.
"The Board's basic job is to look at the big picture and everything as a whole," he said.
Arthur also gave a presentation to the group on a Main Street Indiana meeting he and others attended.
Main Street Brazil's next meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. March 24 in the basement of Riddell Bank.
