- Utility survey necessary to apply for Community Focus Funds

The Town of Harmony is in the process of conducting an income survey of its utility users and persons living in the corporate limits of the town in order to enable the town to apply for Community Focus Fund Grants given by the Indiana Department of Commerce.

Grant applications funded by CFF dollars include, but are not limited to projects such as sewer, water, storm sewer improvements, senior citizen centers, day cares, libraries, fire stations, and community centers. These grant funds could ultimately result in dramatic rate savings to the users of the town's utilities.

One of the primary functions of a CFF Grant is to service communities or utility users with 51 percent low to moderate income residents according to the income guides mandated by HUD Section 8 Income Limits. Therefore, the Town of Harmony is performing its own income survey with the help of WTH Technology of Huntingburg, Indiana to reach the 51 percent goal. WTH will be responsible for receipt, processing and computation of the survey. These survey results will be certified and verified for use with the grant application.

Included in the survey packet is a Concerned Citizens Survey requesting input on potential projects for the community. The Town Council urges all citizens to complete this survey and return it in the enclosed self-addressed envelope.

The Town is asking that all persons involved in the survey please cooperate with completion of the survey and make every effort possible to see that the results are mailed to WTH by April 30.

Residents should be aware that the survey results are of the strictest confidence and will be viewed only by WTH Technology and the certification official. The survey is self-explanatory.

Anyone having questions regarding the survey should contact the office of WTH Technology toll free at 1-877-311-0656.
