Thursday, May 19, 2005

A suspect is in custody and Terre Haute Police are looking for another man in connection with the Speedway robbery in Brazil.

WTHI-TV is reporting Michael Landers, 21, of Terre Haute, is in jail on burglary and robbery charges. In addition to robbing the Speedway station on National Ave. in Brazil, Terre Haute Police say he committed several armed robberies in the past week, including a robbery at a Subway restaurant on Fruitridge Avenue.

Another man, Michael Wayne Herman, 20, is wanted for questioning.

Police believe Herman and Landers used a knife to rob a convenience store on North 3rd Street, the Brazil Speedway and held up a Papa John's driver.

The pair are also wanted for attempting to rob the Post Motel on North 3rd Street and burglarizing Big Red Liquors on Wabash Avenue.

Herman is described as a white male, 5' 7", and 135 lbs.

If you have any information on where Herman might be, please call Terre Haute police at 238-1661.
