Local Democrats chose John Bradshaw as the newest member of the Brazil Township Board during a Democrat Caucus on Wednesday evening.
He will be filling the opening left vacant by the resignation of former board member David Jones.
While Bradshaw could not be in attendance due to a work conflict, his wife, who is also a Brazil City Council member and Clay County Democrat Central Committee Vice Chairperson, Ann Bradshaw spoke on his behalf.
She extended his apologies, and explained that his work schedule at the Water Treatment Plant will not interfere with his duties.
"He knows how to understand and negotiate on contracts," she said. "He knows something about budgets."
Vice Precinct Committeeperson Nancy White, long-time resident and Democrat, also expressed interest in the position.
