Two-day Pottery Festival this weekend

The 18th Annual Clay City Lions Club Pottery Festival, a two-day event honoring 120-year-old Clay City Pottery and other local attractions, will take place this weekend throughout the city.

Pottery tours at Clay City Pottery, beginning at 9 a.m., and carriage rides at Goshorn Park, beginning at 10 a.m., will be available throughout the weekend.

Saturday has a busy day with some of the highlights scheduled at Goshorn Park including food stands, a craft show and sale, a flea market, a quilt show, an antique car club display and hand-turning pottery demonstrations by Rogier Donker. The Lions Club Charcoal Grilled Chicken Dinner and Rib-eye Sandwich Dinner begins at 11 a.m. at Goshorn Park. There will also be sidewalk sales and crafters' displays along Main Street. Local residents will host various yard sales around town.

On Sunday there will be a community worship service sponsored by Union Chapel at Goshorn Park from 9 to 10 a.m. Additional attractions at Goshorn Park on Sunday include an antique farm machinery exhibit and a Jonah Club Fish Fry served by the Lions Club.

Free parking and shuttle service to and from festival events will be available for visitors beginning on Saturday at 9 a.m. and on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
