The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will present "The Phantom And The Whistler Meet Spike Jones" Sunday, June 26, 8 p.m. at the Forest Park Band Shell or pavilion if it rains.
The Phantom comes from "Selections from Phantom of the Opera" by Webber/Barker and includes "Think of Me", "Angel of Music", "All I Ask of You", "The Point of No Return" and "The Music of the Night".
The Whistler is the Arthur Pryor tune "The Whistler and His Dog" featuring the flutes and piccolos. They are Shelley Criss, Betty Heine, Jean Yoho, Brook Steppe, Janelle Huber, Andrea Rode, Marcia Boswell, Carol McClain, Nancy Wegerson, Doris Gambill, Kim Miller and Jenny Ford.
Spike Jones will run amuck in "A Salute To Spike Jones" by Jones/Custer with the zany "Cocktails for Two", "Chloe" and "Poet and Peasant Overture".
Marches of the week are three by John Philip Sousa, "Bullets and Bayonets", "From Maine to Oregon" and "Anchor and Star March". Also, "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" by Jessel and "Magnet", a galop by Fred Jewell.
Fans of the Tijuana Brass will enjoy "Tijuana Brass in Concert" by Alpert/Ricketts with "Spanish Flea", "Whipped Cream", "The Lonely Bull" and "Tijuana Taxi".
