Beasley elected club president

An installation ceremony was held June 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Forest Park for incoming officers of the Brazil Lions Club. Martin Beasley was elected club president for 2005-'06.

Beasley has been an active member since the club was chartered in 2003.

Jim Wilkinson was installed as the club's new vice president. Kristen Beasley was elected club secretary.

"I am looking forward to leading various projects and continuing the Brazil Lions Club's commitment to serving the community," Martin Beasley said in a press release.

The club has 13 members and meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:30 p.m. in Brazil City Hall.

Lions Clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with nearly 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in 193 countries and georgraphical areas around the world.

Since 1917, Lions Clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired and made a strong commitment to community service and serving youth throughout the world.
