A public hearing to vacate an alley is among the items listed on the agenda of the Brazil City Council, which will conduct its regular public meeting at 7 p.m. today in Council Chambers at City Hall.
Ordinance 16-2005, which will be considered for first reading, will be discussed because of a petition filed by local residents on June 14. The alley is between Poplar Street and Noble Street from Chicago Avenue west to the first alley running northwesterly and southeasterly in Brazil, and is not in use. An ordinance must pass two readings.
In other new business, the Council will discuss approval to fund the Master Plan and an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 15621 concerning setback of fences. In old business, the Council will consider the second reading of Ordinance 15-2005, which amends the Unsafe Building Code of Brazil.
In addition to items that may be added to the agenda, reports will be heard from the Brazil Police Department, the Brazil Fire Department, the Office of Planning and Administration, the Public Works Department, the Water Department and the Wastewater Department.
