Brazil's 70th Annual Brazil Rotary Club's 4th of July Celebration officially opened at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Park with members of the Brazil Rotary Club and members of the Forest Park Board Committee performing a ribbon cutting ceremony. Pictured are Rotarian Earl Hutchison, Park Superintendent Bill Houk, Rotarian Susan Thomas, Rotary President Sam Glover, Park Board Member Ruth Ann Jeffries, Rotarian Frank Farmer, Park Board Member Linda Messmer, Rotarian Sally Schutte, Park Board Member Brad Deal, Rotarian Howard Junker and Park Board Member Caroline McCullogh.

The Endless Summer Band is scheduled to perform twice tonight during the Rotary 4th of July Celebration at Forest Park. Both the 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. concerts are scheduled at the Bandshell, but will be moved to the Pavilion, in case of rain. Forecasters are not expecting any widespread showers tonight, but isolated, pop-up showers have not been ruled out.

Wednesday night, the Van Dells are scheduled at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the Bandshell.

The Midway opens to the public at 5:30 p.m. today and Wednesday with pay-one-price arm bands available for $15 at the ticket booths next to Rotary Headquarters in the park. Rides will be running for special people starting at noon Wednesday.

Proceeds from the 4th of July Celebration support many organizations in Clay County through the Brazil Rotary Club. This is the club's only fundraiser throughout the year.
