The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will present "People Who Live In Glass Houses" Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Forest Park Bandshell or Pavilion if it rains.
"People Who Live In Glass Houses" is a suite by John Philip Sousa which only last year was published for band. Sousa used this work with his own band prior to World War I and again in the 1920s.
In this spirited comical look at countries where various drinks originated Sousa titled each movement, "The Champaignes", The Rhine Wines", "The Whiskies -Scotch, Bourbon and Rye" and "Convention of the Cordials".
Colonel John R. Bourgeois edited this delightful and unique from Sousa's origianl score.
In addition, the BCB will present "A Symphony of Sitcoms" based on old TV shows, "The Entertainer" and "My Fair Lady".
Ragtime tunes include "Some Band Rag" by Jewell and "Kentucky Sunrise" and "Ragged Rozy" both by King.
Marches of the week are "Queen City", "Billboard" and "The Trombone King".
