The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will present "The Epic of Flight" in conjunction with the Terre Haute air show Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Forest Park Bandshell or Pavilion if rain.
Prepare for takeoff as the BCB presents an airfield of selections with flying as its theme.
The earliest found are "That Flying Rag" (1911) by Arthur Pryor, "Der Graf Zeppelin" (1912) by Carl Teike and "The Royal Air Force March Past" by Davies and Dyson (1921)
Two aviation themed marches by John Philip Sousa to be played are "The Aviators" and "The Circumnavigators Club" both from 1931.
Also from 1931, is Goldman's "Onward-Upward".
From World War II, the BCB will soar with "Wings of Victory" by Ventre, "Eagle Squadron" by Alford and "The Army Air Corps" by Crawford/Bennett.
Also included is "The Dam Busters" by Coates, "The Golden Eagle" by Walters and "Space Medley" by Tatgenhorst.
