The back-to-school rush to purchase supplies and new clothes in an effort to get ready for the first day of school on Aug. 17, has begun. And for many families, it can be quite expensive.
The good news from the Clay Community School Corporation is that the increase in cost of the textbook rental/fees for students during the 2005-2006 school year will be minimal, according to Supt. Bill Schad.
The textbook rental/fees for students at the elementary level during the 2005-2006 school year will be:
Grade 1: $121.53
Grade 2: $119.51
Grade 3: $120.46
Grade 4: $109.52
Grade 5: $112.97
The textbook rental/fees for Clay City Elementary students in grade 6 will be $ 93.51.
The textbook rental/fees during the 2005-2006 school year for secondary students attending North Clay Middle School, Northview High School and Clay City High School are dependent upon the class schedule of each student.
At the elementary level, with the textbook rental/fees a set amount per grade, payment for the fees are due at registration or before the first day of school.
With secondary students taking individual classes based upon their choice of core curriculum, the textbook rental/fees are figured on an individual basis and a bill, payable upon receipt, will be sent out approximately a month after school begins.
Payment options for textbook rental/fees are available upon request from the Clay Community School Corporation.
