- Restaurants given permission to place tables and chairs on sidewalk on portion of National Avenue

You may soon be able to dine out of doors along a portion of National Avenue. During its Tuesday night meeting, the Brazil City Council voted to allow the placement of tables and chairs on National Avenue between Depot and Alabama streets. This was done at the request of restaurants in the area.

In another matter concerning city streets, there will soon be new stop signs at two Brazil intersections.

The city council approved on final reading placing stop signs at the intersections of John and Mechanic streets and changing a yield sign to a stop sign at the intersection of Leavitt and Knight streets.

The City Council's next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 in City Hall.
