Tonight's special budget session of the Clay Community Schools Board of School Trustees is the first in a series of meetings required by law.
A review and discussion of general budget and proposals for the School Bus Replacement Plan and the Capital Projects Plan are on the agenda of tonight's meeting. Other items, including personnel, may also be addressed by the seven board members and Superintendent William Schad in an effort to prepare the 2006 budget.
The public is invited to attend tonight's meeting at 7:30 p.m., immediately following the executive session in the Media Center at North Clay Middle School.
The information will be discussed and reviewed again during the second budget meeting during the regular board meeting on Aug. 11. At that session, the board will schedule the first publication of the budget for public viewing in local newspapers on Aug. 17, and a second publication date on Aug. 24.
A public hearing on the proposed budgets for the School Bus Replacement Plan and the Capital Projects Plan is scheduled for Aug. 29 at a place to be announced.
The final draft of the proposed 2006 budget for the school corporation is scheduled for adoption on Sept. 8, with a final publication date in local newspapers on Sept. 21.
