Wednesday, August 24, 2005

MARSHALL, Ill. (AP) -- A two-car crash killed an employee of a Terre Haute, Ind., radio station and her 13-year-old daughter, police said.

Sharla Cretors-Daniel, 33, and her daughter, Lainie Cretors, died after their car swerved across the center line on U.S. 40 and struck an oncoming car about 10 miles west of Terre Haute, Illinois State Police said.

Both were pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

The driver of the other car was taken to a Terre Haute hospital for treatment.

Cretors-Daniel had worked for the Wabash Valley Chapter of the American Cancer Society and had organized some of the Clay County Relay for Life programs.

She had also been been an on-air personality on WBOW-FM in Terre Haute. She was recently promoted to account manager for Crossroads Communications, which owns the station.
