Built in 1890, Dave and Veda Bussing's three-story home located at 520 N. Meridian St. epitomizes the beauty and elegance expressed through the architecture of a Queen Anne House.
"We've spent 15 years looking for period antiques and furniture to add to the beauty of the home," Veda said. "The house speaks for itself when you come inside."
The house is on the Historic Home Tour, 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
Through careful research and a lot of elbow grease, the Bussing family is returning the home to the splendor it once knew while making the home comfortable for living in 2005.
Two floors and the basement will be available for the public to delightfully wander through and enjoy the beauty of a bygone era.
Once you've completed your historic tour, remember there will be old-fashioned cakes and punch served at the Clay County Historical Museum in honor of its 25th Anniversary in conjunction with the tour.
Tickets for the tour are $5 each, which can be purchased at any of the tour sites during the day of the event or in advance by calling Veda Bussing at 448-8595 or Scott Tillman at 446-7136.
