Business caters to sweet tooth

Wednesday, September 14, 2005

When your sweet tooth is having a fit, Sweet Awakenings will soothe your craving. Located at the west side of the State Road 59 and State Road 46 junction, the business has 23 flavors of ice cream on hand each day that can be put into a cone, bowl, homemade waffle cone or waffle bowl with a variety of toppings on top.

Wright's Ice Cream Co. in Cayuga, Ind. supplies the shop with flavors such as: blue hawaiian, black walnut, butter pecan, butterscotch ripple, candy bar, chocolate, cookie dough, cookies-n-cream, hazelnut cappuccino, mint chocolate chip, orange pineapple, peanut butter cup, pralines-n-cream, pumpkin, raspberry ripple, raspberry salad, rocky road, turtle, strawberry, vanilla, sugar-free butter pecan, sugar-free lemon and sugar-free vanilla.

Sweet Awakenings also serves lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, frappuccinos, teas, fruit smoothies, milk shakes, malts, Italian sodas, Pepsi products, banana splits, donuts, muffins, cookies and brownies.

If you are in a hurry and don't have the time to enjoy the warm and inviting atmosphere inside or the patio outside, all items can be picked up through the convenient drive-thru window.

The owners are hoping to expand their business to include sandwiches and soups on their menu. That idea is still up for consideration.

Sweet Awakenings is open Monday through Friday 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. and weekends 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
