Earlier this month, a delegation of local officials went to Indianapolis to discuss alternatives to closing the Clay City Branch of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. A series of meetings between BMV Commissioner Joel Silverman and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels were held. Both Commissioner Silverman and Gov. Daniels expressed their gratitude for the desire of Clay County to work with the BMV to find a creative alternative to closing the branch. A public hearing will be held on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at Clay City High School. Local officials are looking forward to a strong turnout from the community to show their support for the Clay City License Branch. Pictured in the Governors office from left to right: Sen.
