CCHS band to compete at Indianapolis on Saturday

The Clay City Imperial Regiment began the 2005 marching season with solid performances in two contests in southern Indiana on Saturday. At the North Harrison Invitational at Ramsey, Ind., the band opted to compete in the large school class, Class B/A, placing 3rd overall and winning caption awards for best visual and best color guard. Placings were 1) Floyd Central, 2) Paoli, 3) Clay City, 4) Bedford-North Lawrence, 5) New Albany. At the Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, Ind.) Invitational, the band placed 2nd overall, winning caption awards for best music and best percussion. Placings were 1) Springs Valley, 2) Clay City, and 3) South Spencer. Clay City was .2 of a point out of first place.

The band will compete this Saturday at the Ben Davis Invitational at 4:15 p.m.
