Knights celebrate sweet 16th over Athenians

The Northview volleyball teams split on Saturday afternoon against Crawfordsville, the JV falling 22-25, 14-25 with the varsity earning a four set, 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-23 decision.

In varsity action, Lindsay Thomas had 42 assists to go with six points, five blocks and four kills. Brittney Spugnardi had eight points, six digs and a pair of aces for the Knights and Brianne Arvin added three blocks and eight kills up front.

Lottie King had a big day with 21 kills, 11 blocks, five points and seven digs with hitting partner, Christy Fulk, chipping in with five points, 11 blocks and seven kills. Kyler Clark contributed 10 points, two aces and four digs and Kaley Huffman had four points, six digs and five kills.

In the JV game, Cari Laue had four points and a pair of kills with Emma Koehler adding four points, two aces and five assists. Olivia Kumpf contributed three points and six assists with teammate Katie Timberman adding three kills. Hannah Emmert had three points, two aces and three kills.

The Knights 16-1 overall will face county rival Clay City this evening with JV action kicking off at 6 p.m.
