Cory Apple Fest gets an 'A' grade from attendees

Top: Royalty was on hand for Saturday's events at the Cory Apple Festival. Crowned Thursday evening before the festival, Apple Queen Shondra Barrett, a senior at Clay City High School, Apple Princess and Miss Congienalty winner Shearea Barrett, a sophomore at CCHS, and First Runner Up Whitney Moore, a junior at CCHS, were out enjoying a bit of shopping at the craft stands along main street. Second from Top: Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton uses the sheriff's department's 4-wheel ATV to patrol the streets of Cory during the festival on Saturday afternoon. Several deputies were on hand throughout the three-day event to provide security, traffic control and public assistance.

Second from Bottom: Aaron Benesh and Bernadette Orban enjoyed a beautiful view of the area while on their Central Illinois Air helicopter ride at Saturday's Cory Apple Festival. Pilots Dom Youakim and Mike Daly took many first-time passengers for thrilling rides throughout the day.
