Northview defeats host Panthers in volleyball

Northview's volleyball won their 27th match of the season with a road win over Riverton Parke on Tuesday evening with a 25-14, 25-14, 25-14 decision.

The Knights got a balanced effort across the board as Heather Palmer had a pair of kills and four blocks and Brianne Arvin added two blocks with six kills for the Knights.

Leading the squad in service points was Christy Fulk with 12 points and three aces with both Kyler Clark and Brittney Spugnardi adding five points. Spugnardi had two aces and Kaley Huffman had 10 points and an ace in the victory.

Lindsay Thomas had 24 assists to go with six service points and a pair of kills with four blocks and classmate Lottie King had 10 blocks and nine kills. Huffman also added three kills along with Fulk and Chelsea Mershon contributed a pair of kills for the Knights.

Northview will celebrate Senior Night on Thursday with their final regular season match against their sectional opponent Plainfield. The match will be a freshman, JV and varsity match beginning at 5 p.m.

The JV team won 25-15, 25-14 as Olivia Kumpf had seven points and a pair of aces with three assists and Nikki Mogan had 12 points and eight aces. Cari Laue added five points and two aces and Hannah Emmert rang up four points, three aces and a kill. Mallory Heffner had four points with Emma Koehler contributing three points, three kills and six assists. Katie Timberman had four kills and Ali Melega had three kills. Mershon had four kills for the Knights.
