Residents relieved, shocked
Parke County residents can't believe what is happening to them. WTHI-TV interviewed Parke County residents after three members of a family were murdered in their rural Parke County home.
"I'm just glad they caught him," said Howard Coffman. "I live here in Rockville and I feel more secure."
"It's a blessing," April Brock said. "I'm sure the family is relieved and everyone in the whole community."
Relief is just one of a wide array of emotions the people of Parke County have experienced. The most common was shock.
"Shock, just disbelief for a small town that this could happen," Brock said.
A reporter for WTHI-TV said the sidewalks and streets in Rockville were virtually deserted Tuesday, and people said that they think it's going to be a while before things get back to normal. And some fear that it may never be the same.
"The fear the kids have now in this town, not only this town but other counties," Hallie Taylor said. "The fear parents have around here what's going to happen to their kids, it's not right."
