- Superintendent's contract renewal on agenda tonight, 7:30 p.m., at North Clay Middle School Media Center
Tonight's Clay Community Schools Board of School Trustees' meeting is going to be broadcast to the Clay City High School through the use of the Distance Learning Equipment. It is hoped that the two-way broadcast will allow the public greater access to the school board meetings.
At this evening's meeting the public will also hear discussion concerning:
-Superintendent William Schad's contract renewal
-Permission to apply, in partnership with St. Mary-of-the-Woods, for Title II Part B Mathematics and Science Partnership Program -- Indiana Algebra Readiness Initiative.
-Capping the board's portion of health insurance premiums for administrative and non-teaching personnel
-Recommendation for salary increases for Classified staff
-Approval of bids for the purchase of school buses, fuel and tires,
-Approval of Meridian Elementary's extra-curricular funds to be used for the purchase of a new mascot.
Citing "philosophical differences" and a need for change, on Aug. 12, board president Steven Grigsby told The Brazil Times that he and board member Joe Thomas had informed Superintendent William Schad of the board's decision to not renew his contract. Schad's contract expires on June 30, 2006.
School Board members Steven Grigsby, Jim Guy, Dottie King, Terry Barr, Len Fischer, Ted Jackson and Joe Thomas are scheduled to attend the meeting at 7:30 tonight in the Media Center at North Clay Middle School.
