- Victim's wife charged with giving false information to authorities
While investigating the death of a Brazil man over the weekend, the Indiana State Police and the Clay County Sheriff's Department have arrested his wife for false informing.
Around 4:19 a.m., Sunday, emergency personnel from Dick Johnson Volunteer Fire Department and Transcare responded to a 911 call requesting medical assistance in the area of CR 200W and CR 1350N. They found Brian Scobee, of Carbon, laying partially in the roadway. He was unconscious and unresponsive as medical personnel began CPR. Transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Scobee was pronnounced dead upon arrival.
The extent or type of injuries Scobee received were not being released by authorities this morning.
An autopsy is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute.
While questioning witnesses concerning Scobee's death, Scobee's wife, Lisa Ann, was arrested for reporting false information to authorities.
Lisa Ann Scobee is incarcerated in the Clay County Jail on $3,000 bond while she awaits arraingment.
The investigation will continue today.
