A Brazil man has been arrested after confessing to a robbery at the Sunoco Fast Max Discount Tobacco, 939 E. National Ave., on Friday.

Brent A. Moody, 22, was charged with Burglary, which is punishable by 2 to 8 years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine.

Around 2:25 a.m. Brazil City Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shattered glass door at the gas station.

Upon arrival, Patrolman Dennis Archer and City Reserve Patrolman Jeremy Mace did a protective sweep of the building while Sgt. Terry Harrison searched the surrounding area for suspects.

Approximately 20 Hoosier Lottery scratch off tickets were missing, said Manager Frank Bernarte.

A surveillance video showed the suspect entered the store around 12:15 a.m. Friday.

When Detective Martin S. Beasley showed the video to a gas station employee, the suspect was identified as Moody.

While interviewing Moody, the suspect confessed to the burglary.
