Report of shots fired leads to arrest

At 11:22 p.m. Sunday, the Clay County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 caller reporting shots fired from a pick-up truck following their car with its lights out in the area of 400 W. C.R. 1200 S.

The witness identified Dustin Levi Turley, 19, of Coalmont, as the driver of the vehicle.

Upon arrival at Turley's home, officers discovered a shotgun and ammunition in the front seat of the pick-up truck the witness described.

While in custody for questioning, officers discovered a glass pipe in Turley's possession.

Dustin Levi Turley was arrested on one charge of Pointing a Firearm, a Class D Felony, and one charge of Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Infraction, and taken to the Clay County Jail. If convicted, Turley faces up to three years in prison and/or a fine not more than $11,000.

The matter remains under investigation by the Clay County Sheriff's Department.
