Schools are getting in the Christmas spirit

Left: East Elementary student Dalton Aker, 10, of Floy Galbraith's fifth-grade class, said he enjoyed taking part in the annual class project Thursday morning. Students to used their "multiple intelligence," or all their learning skills, to create gingerbread houses, Galbraith and Ellen Packard's classes are continuing the Christmas classroom tradition that has been a part of the holidays for the past several years. The 54 houses created by the students will be on display throughout next week at the school. Right: Dalton Aker uses icing to place a red licorice strip on the window of his gingerbread house. Parents were on hand to help make the icing for the students to use in their construction projects.
