The first board of county commissioners and county council meetings of the new year saw a slew of appointments to the various boards and commissions comprising Clay County's government.

-Commissioner's Attorney-- the commissioners re-appointed Eric Somheil to serve as the board's legal counsel.

-Property Tax Adjustment/Assessment Board of Appeals-- the board of commissioners renewed Jim Hicks' appointment to the PTA/BOA. The county council appointed Gerald Hardesty as its representative.

-West Central Indiana Economic Development District-- the commissioners voted unanimously to renew Charlie Brown's appointment as the board's representative to the district.

-Alcohol Beverage Commission-- Members of the county council re-appointed Guy Dickerson to the commission, while the commissioners renewed the appointment of Robert Longo.

-Brazil City Plan Commission-- The commissioners selected Carolyn Timmerman to serve a four-year term with the commission. B. Lee Reberger was appointed to a one-year term, in keeping with a request from Brazil City Hall to stagger the appointments.

-County Highway Supervisor-- the commissioners renewed the appointment of current highway supervisor Pete Foster.

-Clay County Emergency Management Director-- current EMD Bryan Husband was selected by the commissioners to serve another term in the office.

-Head Custodian for the County Courthouse-- Current head custodian Wayne Knox was approved by the board for another term.

-County Veterans Service Officer-- the commissioners renewed the appointment of current Veterans Service Officer Les Walden.

-Clay County Park Board-- Kevin Girton was approved by the commissioners for another term, and Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Barr was also installed to the board
