Clay County Farm Bureau President Marshall Nuckolls (second from left) and Farm Bureau member Leland Stevenson (far left) discuss the possibility of a balanced Indiana budget with District 44 Representative Andy Thomas (second from right) and Rep. James Buck (far right), chair of the House Government and Regulatory Reform Committee.

Nuckolls and Stevenson traveled to the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis Thursday to encourage state senators and representatives with constituents in Clay County to participate in a cracker barrel forum, a chance for the public to meet the legislators face-to-face and discuss issues affecting the area and its residents.

Nuckolls enlisted "a pretty good line-up" of state legislators during the visit, he said. Thomas, Dist. 46 Rep. Vern Tincher, Dist. 43 Rep. Clyde Kersey and Senators Richard Bray and John Waterman all committed to participate in the cracker barrel, scheduled for Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cory Firehouse.
