Lt. Col. Kip Clark snaps his fingers to make a point during a speech to the Purdue Extension Service Clay County annual meeting Monday night at the fairgrounds. Clark is commander of the 113th Squadron, 181st Fighter Wing at Terre Haute. The Staunton High School graduate gave a talk on the importance of volunteerism and demonstrated his gear. He flies an F-16 and has flown missions over Iraq during the war. Clark said the F-16s will be moved to an air base in New Jersey, but the 181st will remain at Terre Haute. About 1,000 people are employed at the Terre Haute base; about 350 of them are full-time. Clark will remain at the Terre Haute base, but he is not sure what his duties will be when the jets are moved to the East Coast.
