Things are moving pretty fast around the new Clay County Jail these days.
On Monday, Sheriff Mike Heaton announced the status of the dispatch center and the administrative offices at the new jail.
"It's been a pretty smooth transition," he said. "We hope by Wednesday to have all administrative offices open to the public in the new jail."
If someone has to get copies of an accident report, make a report or talk with an officer, the sheriff said people need to visit the new jail.
If people need to visit an inmate or do other business at the jail, they will still need to go the old facility until the prisoners are moved into the new jail.
"Sometime after this Sunday's Open House we will move the prisoners into the new jail," he said.
The public is invited to view the new jail during Sunday's Open House at 1 p.m.
The outside event will be moved inside in case of bad weather, the sheriff said.
