Around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon an accident at the intersection of Coal and Alabama streets lead to the response of the Brazil City Police, Brazil City Fire Department, Clay County Sheriff's Department and Trans-Care.

An unidentified witness said she watched the westbound driver of a Chevrolet Venture minivan on Coal Street cross into the path of a Camaro that was northbound on Alabama Street.

The minivan was struck by the Camaro on the driver side causing the van to flip over on its side.

Emergency personnel had to remove the windshield of the van to manuever a disabled man out of the vehicle and onto a stretcher. He was unable to get out on his own.

The man refused medical attention and was helped into his wheelchair.

As of press time it was not known whether there were other passengers in either vehicle. Officials confirmed the accident is still under investigation.
