A single vehicle accident claimed the life of the driver and hospitalized the passenger early Sunday morning.
Around 3:20 a.m., Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Jerry Siddons responded to a report of a single vehicle accident approximately one mile east of Bowling Green.
According to a press release, it is believed Randy L. Wisdom, 48, of Terre Haute, was driving west on S.R.46 when the car left the road on the north side for unknown reasons. The car rolled about four times, while traveling several hundred feet from the road, ending up on its wheels. Wisdom was thrown about 25 feet from the vehicle.
Wisdom was pronounced dead at the scene by Clay County Deputy Coroner Jerry Jordan. The cause of death is pending the outcome of an autopsy report.
The driver's wife and passenger in the vehicle, Diana Wisdom, 39, of Terre Haute, was trapped inside. She was transported by helicopter to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis after complaining of pain.
Further details about her injuries were not available at press time.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Department, Search and Rescue, Clay County deputy Coroner Jerry Jordan, and Center Point Deputy Town Marshal Micah Hayes.
The crash remains under investigation.
