House running for commissioner

Note: This is another in a series of candidate announcements published by The Brazil Times.

Announcements will be "in his (or her) own words" and should be accompanied by a photo.

No announcements will be published one week before the May 2 primary.

Candidates are invited to participate in a political forum starting at 6 p.m., April 26, at the fairgrounds, sponsored by The Brazil Times, Farm Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce.

Graham T. House of Coalmont has announced his candidacy for Clay County Commissioner. House seeks the Democratic nomination for the Third District.

House is a lifelong Clay County resident. He is a 1970 graduate of Shakamak High School.

House has 29 years experience as a heavy equipment operator in coal mining, stone quarries, gravel pits, road construction and building trades. He is a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 841.

House is a member of the anchored in Faith Ministries Church in Vicksburg. He is also a member of Hymera Lodge 588 F. & A.M.

House is married to the former Marcella (Marcy) Lucas of Clay City. She is a former Lewis Township Trustee and is currently serving on the Clay County Parks and Recreation Board.

If elected, House pledges to be a full-time commissioner. He will be responsive to the constituents of Clay County. It is also his goal to work diligently to address the needs of this county.
