Top and bottom -- Frequent rain over the past few days-- coupled with poor drainage in certain areas-- has left parts of Brazil submerged in standing water. The mailbox of the residence at 1121 N. McGuire St., the residence of Everett Fulk was surrounded Friday morning by a several inches of water. At the intersection of N. McGuire and Hendrix streets, rain had spilled over from the ditch Thursday and inundated the road.

Despite the already significant levels of accumulation, the National Weather Service reported the rain will continue to fall intermittently until early next week. The Times reported Thursday a flood watch spanning much of the Wabash Valley had been declared, and the National Weather Service web site reported another inch fell on the area by Friday morning.
